Dear all,

Yeah, yeah.  I know that I have been missing in action.  But seriously, this blog is not going to get you your money back.  It is just a place for people to meet, maybe strategise and to vent frustration.  Only action will get us our money back.  I presume that is something the Action Committee is working on.

Anyway, post all new comments to this article as the 'load more' was getting a bit too annoying in the previous post.  As I am back on-line, I will continue to monitor all comments.

    On 15th Feb 2013 (tomorrow), PM coming to Ipoh to officiate the opening of UTC (Urban Transformation Centre), perhaps investors can approach PM here. Good opportunity for everyone. Hope the action committee can come up with something and investors can back them up at UTC. Let's do it! Election is next month and let's get heard! Tomorrow is a golden opportunity and PM can't turn us down. He will have to hear the Bestino investors. What do you all think?

    Mid-nite Blogger(after a long absense)----HAPPY YEAR OF THE SNAKE. Latest update on Bestino. A group of leading agents had a informal meeting with Chong at his residence on the 18th of Feb.afternoon hopefully to seek a lasting solution to all investors' predicament.We had a fruitful meeting and Chong mentioned he is prepared to have a 'goodwill meeting' with all investors very soon to make some announcements pending some confirmations regarding investment returns.Unfortunately I can't reveal any further information until further confirmation.I personally was convinced at least there is definitely some hope on some settlement . The Action Committee is aware of the outcome of the said agents meeting recently.I will update this blogsite as and when I get further information.Please be patient if you can as this comment is true.

    Refer to Anonymous dtd.Feb.22nd posting at 3.35pm query:- At the meeting held on 22.02.13 at the Arul Oli Mandaram in Buntong at 7.00 pm. the AJK Com. briefed Bestino investors on the outcome of Putra Jaya with Bank Negara , Dato Yusni , AJK and lawyer Tommy Thomas. In short the lawyer was able to convince the Govt. legal team present that the 24.2 million can be returned to the investors despite it being held as court exhibit with his power legal presentation.Tommy Thomas is prepared to draft the documents to present to the court vide Dato Husni and seek permission to release the said money held by B.Negara within a time frame of 3 wks. As such the planned protest in Putra Jaya is temporarily put on hold pending the outcome of this latest development. The other point put forward to the crowd was to make a decision whether the AJK agree to meet with Chong and agents separately as requested by him prior to having the public meeting. The investors unanimously decided that Chong should address the investors and AJK together and as such this message will be conveyed to Chong and agents to hold the said meeting as soon as possible.The honorary AJK com. also appealed to well-wishers to donate generously to meet their working expenditure.---(On a related note I personally appeal to those many Bestino investors residing in Ipoh who have also unfortunately invested in Fresh Farm seaweed investment to attend to an important High Court Hearing in Ipoh at about 9 am on Mon. 25th Feb.2013 so as to make a visual impact to the investors plight as it is going to be an open court hearing.Please contact your upline for further details.Thank you.)----Midnite Blogger

      It was a sad state of affair when only about 7 investors were present at the first time open court hearing although we contacted so many investors to make the visual impact on the judge. Nevertheless our lawyer made an impressive debate to counter arguments to set aside ' Judgement-in-Default' and 'Passport Travel Blacklist' earlier obtained.In the end the judge suggested a compensation amount to be compromised to settle matters fast.A claim amount of 15 million ringgit by our lawyer was counter offered a mere 3 million ringgit only. The case has been postponed to the 8th of Mar.2013 at 9am due to disagreement on a fair amount.We are calling for a very urgent important meeting on the 3rd of Mar.2013 at 3pm at Arul Oli Mandaram Buntong,Ipoh to gather investors' views. This news on the proposed meeting will appear in the Tamil Dailies on 01/03/13.Seaweed investors should make all effort to attend both the meeting and court case.At this juncture I wish to thank 'BEASTIE' for allowing me to divulge this information vide this blogsite as I know many of the Bestino investors are also Seaweed investors.-Midnite Blogger

I hope any settlement reached would be a satisfactory one although I am not satisfied with the word “compensation”. Chong should return all money belonging to the investors, regardless to whatsever interest he had previously given. The investors trusted in him, his company and also his agents. The investors could have invested their hard earned money in other ways too but they chose him merely because of trust. Most investors depended on the monthly interest earned to run their homes. Poverty has now set in for most investors, hitting hard especailly on those who had taken out their EPF to invest with Chong. To me this was hardly greed. It was survival against the rising inflation. It is sad, unfair and truly a blow. And yes, more investors should come forward and stand for their rights.

    Saya tidak faham mengapa si Chong tidak mahu pulang kan wang kita semua,mengapa ? Adakah dia sengaja tidak mahu kembali kan wang kita semua atau wang semua sudah tidak ada lagi.Yang saya paling hairan mengapa dia tidak mahu keluar berjumpa dengan pelabur?Dulu dia janji macham macham. Dia cakap saya mesti akan pulang kan wang pelabur semua,tetapi sekarang hendak tengok muka pelabur pun tak mahu.fikiran saya si Chong ini mahu tipu kita semua.Dulu pernah dia cakap dia berkerja keras untuk kembalikan wang pelabur dengan seberapa cepat yang boleh.Tetapi sudah hampir 4 tahun , Mustahil hampir 4 tahun dia tidak boleh pulang kan wang pelabur. Ini menujukan Chong hendak sapu kan wang ini semua.1 tahun ok kita kata tak cukup masa bagi dia sebab Wang ada di Hong Kong,Ini sudah 4 tahun betul betul tidak masuk akal dan mustahil.Kalau dia betul betul hendak pulang kan wang kita semua dengan hati yang baik,sepatut nya dia keluar berjumpa dengan pelabur dan beritahu apa masaalah sebenar nya.Ini baru di katakan gentlemen.Berapa lama kau Chong hendak senbunyi di rumah.Ambil Wang orang tidak berkat sampai masuk kubor.

    Dear Samantha, as regards the term “investors”, I would like to bring to everyone’s attention that this whole Bestino scenario does not only affect those in the lower income group alone BUT all investors by large. Those who have also invested mega bucks are equally affected for with the rising inflation, businesses have slowed down too, they are facing losses too. This bracket of group have also toiled hard towards their investments and now all is gone in Bestino. It’s been 4 years now and those who invested big, feels a bigger pinch. The monthly interest gained from Bestino those days does not even cover a quarter of their principal amount invested. So do you call this higher income group greedy? It was just an opportunity to make a comfortable living in Bestino’s investment. Money for “the higher income group” did not fall from the sky, they worked very hard for it. So in short, it is not the lower income group that we should feel sorry for but for ALL investors. Whether the investment was RM10K, RM100K or even RM1 MIL, it is still the investors’ HARD EARNED money. Whether the money was withdrawn from EPF or withdrawn from FD’s, it’s still HARD EARNED money. None of us have a money printing machine or else we would not be investing in Bestino at all. We ALL have been robbed poor!

My agent (a well respected mic leader even brought me to retired police officer who happened to a bestino manager at that time)to convenience me to withdraw my EPF.       I happened to attend the said meeting where the AJK decided on this course of action.Basically the 24.2 promised return by the authorities to the investors has been rejected by the Attorney General.The investors want an answer from the said minister before Parliament is dissolved for GE13.     My husband trusted an Indian woman agent whom he has known as a good friend for more than 20 years[he knew her much,much longer than his own wife].Trusted her sweet words and invested in Bestino and Seaweed with the same agent.Pity my maid who had RM10K [the only savings she had], her hard earn salary also got cheated by this woman.Today this lady refused to even return our calls and also sms. My maid is still waiting for her money back.Dont know how these agents can come out of their house and walk all around Ipoh like as if nothing as happen. Mr. Chong if you happen to read this blog, think of all the people you promised to help and today you are out there pretending nothing as happen and smiling to us as if we feel " Dont make it a big issue and go on with your life as per normal".     There were no gold mine investments or any other overseas business except Lecruz (Macau). Bestino was paying us from those returns but upon BNM's raid these returns also stopped.
    The money that BMN froze in PBB were our Jun'09 returns which were to have been paid to us.

Looks like a " INDIANS stabbing INDIANS" scenario, as a high percentage of Bestino investors are of INDIAN origin. We should all be fighting for a common goal i.e. persuade Chong to return the 55%-60%% of our capital by end of APRIL 2013 as promised at the YMCA meeting with 45 agents. Did you know that PERKASA &PERKIDA supporters arrived at the scene of protest at Jln.K.Kangsar and harassed Bestino protestars as acknowledged by the ACTION COMM. meeting with investors last Sun.It was very fortunate nothing unpleasant occurred cos the investors remained calm and did not get provoked but this may not be the same scenario the next time around as the election fever is on.       From the look of things it appears that no one is willing to help the Bestino investors to recover their investments despite they having given their words that help is on the way.
      In stead harassment,humiliation and strong arm twisting is now the order by the powerful to scare us. Honestly I do not see anything positive unless and until YM Chong decides otherwise. He could have moved mountains if he had wanted to but that was never his aim.

      True we too are equally responsible for this mess but keep in mind that we have countless authorities to ensure everyone's rights and laws are not only respected but enforced in a timely manner.
      What do we have in this 'semua bolihland' - promises by these so called 'white elephants' bodies but nothing is done (NATO). Everyday we are made to hear - people first, promises made good (delivered). Like this recent news i received frm those admins in bestino that by end of April they will issue a letter to investors abt the funds but then it's almost mid of May nw & we still haven't heard anything frm Bestino yet. With that being said, do we've to wait for another 5 years again?? I've had enough with all the excuses time & time again!!!!

    Nevertheless there's no harm in updating your particulars with Bestino's office.It's only to our interest to ensure there have been no misappropriation of our investment details.
    We really do not know whats going on in his mind despite our numerous efforts in trying to get Bestino to return our money,but we should give him the benefit of our doubts.Surely any man merits to be heard before his 'D' day.
    Chances of ever receiving our capital are very remote but never mind do update your details soonest possible and keep your fingers crossed.
